Quality and durability are two words every angler wants to hear when shopping at their local tackle retailer. Penn has done a great job of making sure those two words come along with their reels, from the beginning in 1932 when Otto Henze founded PENN Fishing Tackle he began earning the trust of anglers to make it happen. To this day PENN reels have earned over 1400 IGFA world records keeping them at the forefront of the industry.
While everyone has their own personal preferences, it’s hard to argue that PENN is one of the best. However, every angler along with their own style, will always stick to the brand they feel fits them the best. Even though most of the reel technology has been kept up among brands, it seems every reel has its own feel and every angler “thinks” one is better than the other. In this industry that has forced the competition to evolve at rapid paces and led to overall great fishing.
